About the Book

The book titled, URBAN AGRICULTURE discusses the farming situation in and around the city of Tezpur. Urban growth and its effects on various land uses, particularly agriculture, are the main topics of the book. This book is written to provide readers with a thorough grasp of the Tezpur area’s urban, fringe, and peri-urban farming scenarios as well as the marketing patterns. Additionally, the GI-tagged fruit, i.e. Tezpur Litchi is given a prominent place in the book.

The book also examines the challenges and opportunities faced by peri-urban and urban farmers from a variety of angles. It is anticipated that the book will serve a wide range of readers inclusive of students, learners, research scholars, agricultural specialists, and policymakers who are interested in the field of Urban Planning, Land Use, Environment and Regional Planning in general.
